A celebration in song and dance, Fosse recreates some
of the most memorable moments in the career of legendary showman
Bob Fosse--the first director ever to win the Oscar, Tony and
Emmy Awards all in a single year. Conceived by Richard Maltby,
Jr., Chet Walker and Ann Reinking, the show features 32 of Broadway's
most talented dancers and includes several rarely seen dance
numbers from Fosse's early work, as well as such standards as
"Steam Heat" from The Pajama Game (1954), "Mein
Herr" from the film Cabaret (1972), and "I Want
to Be a Dancing Man" from Dancin' (1977). TIME MAGAZINE
wrote of the show:
"An inevitable hit, a galvanizing eruption of energy,
panache and sure-footed stagecraft. There hasn't been anything
like it in years!"
Fosse's work on Broadway, for which he won 9 Tony Awards,
includes The Pajama Game, Bells are Ringing, Rehead, Little
Me, Sweet Charity, Pippin, Chicago, Dancin', Damn Yankees, New
Girl in Town and How to Succeed in Business Without Really
Trying. His film work includes such classics as Sweet
Charity, Lenny and All That Jazz.
